Battle of the White Sox
At Old Comiskey Park, the 1919 Black Sox dominated the 1993 White Sox 6-1. The game was close until the 7th inning when the Black Sox exploded on 1993's relievers. Joe Jackson had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the 1919 Chicago White Sox outscored the 1993 Chicago White Sox 6 to 1. Dickie Kerr (1-0) gave a fine effort for 1919 Chicago. He went 7 innings surrendering 7 hits and no walks. 1919 Chicago rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon. The loss was charged to Jason Bere (0-1). He pitched well for awhile, but faltered then his relievers had troubles. He surrendered 3 runs and 7 hits in 6 and 1/3 innings.
